Our Programs - Knights in Action

Our Knights of Columbus Council #8891 offers YOU a place to support your family, parish, and community in faith and service and to put OUR Faith into Action!  Founded by Father Michael J. McGivney, a young parish priest now on the path to sainthood, the Knights of Columbus helps strengthen men, their families, their parishes, and their communities to grow in faith through programs, service projects, and vital fraternal benefits.  As a Knight we are challenged to defend our faith and build a culture of life in our very secular society.

FAITH IN ACTION is a new program created by the Knights of Columbus that offers a mission-driven platform designed to consider the needs of men and their families in the twenty-first century.  Organized into FAITH, FAMILY, COMMUNITY, AND LIFE categories, the Faith in Action Program empowers men to come together to share their faith, provide service to their parishes and communities and defend life at all stages.

Faith Programs enable us to build a stronger parish by aiding our priests, religious formation, honoring Mary and engaging in spiritual reflections and religious education activities and functions.  These programs help each Knight become the man God created us to be; witnesses of strong faith in this time.   Programs include:  Building the Domestic Church; Holy Hour; Support for Vocations. Family Programs are meant to strengthen family bonds.  Societal pressures on every family are now greater than ever before.   The Knights of Columbus not only offer financial and material aids but also opportunities to strengthen spiritual journeys.  Programs include:  Food for Families; Keep Christ in Christmas; Family of the Month.  See a description below.      

Community Programs are a call to serve others where our charity accomplishes greatness.  Each task undertaken makes a difference in the lives of everyone involved.  Each task is an answer to a prayer; changes you and everyone encountered – forever!   Programs include:  Coats for Kids; Free Throw Competition. Life Programs are intended to defend the dignity of each human being at every stage of life as we build a culture of life. As a Knight, we need to stand up against the threats to life with prayer and by putting our faith into action.  Programs include:  March for Life; Ultrasound; Pregnancy Center Support.  See description below.
